Quasi-Isometric Rigidity

The reading group on quasi-isometric rigidity will focus on two main topics. First, the property of being QI rigid, in the sense that a group is QI rigid if any group/space that is quasi-isometric to it is actually virtually isomorphic to it. The second topic will be Mostow’s rigidity theorem, stating that if there exists an isomorphism between the fundamental groups of two (connected, compact, oriented) hyperbolic manifolds of dimension at least 3, then this induces an isometry between them.
